OVERVIEW
The Extron DTP T HD2 4K 230 is a transmitter for sending HDMI with embedded audio, and bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a shielded CATx cable to Extron DTP®‑enabled products. It provides one HDMI input with loop-through to support local monitoring of digital video, and one DTP output. The DTP T HD2 4K 230 supports video signals at resolutions up to 4K. It offers many integrator-friendly features such as EDID Minder®, Key Minder®, bidirectional RS‑232 and IR pass-through for remote AV device control, and compatibility with HDBaseT-enabled devices. The compact enclosure size and remote power capability make the DTP T HD2 4K 230 ideal for discreet placement in lecterns, beneath tables, or wherever needed to meet application requirements.
The HDCP-compliant DTP T HD2 4K 230 enables the reliable transmission of HDMI signals, supporting Deep Color up to 12‑bit, and embedded HD lossless audio formats. The DTP T HD2 4K 230 supports simultaneous transmission of bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals from a control system for AV device control. For added installation flexibility, the transmitter can be remotely powered over the shielded twisted pair cable by a DTP‑enabled product. This simplifies installation and allows both devices to share one power supply.
To enhance and simplify integration of sources and displays, and to help ensure optimal system performance, the DTP T HD2 4K 230 features two Extron-exclusive technologies: EDID Minder and Key Minder. EDID Minder manages EDID communication between the display devices and input source to ensure that the correct video formats are displayed reliably. For HDMI signals with protected content, Key Minder authenticates and maintains continuous HDCP encryption between input and output devices to ensure the simultaneous distribution of source content to all displays. The DTP T HD2 4K 230 also automatically adjusts color bit depth based on the display EDID, preventing color compatibility conflicts between source and display.
The DTP output can be configured for compatibility with HDBaseT-enabled displays to send digital video and embedded audio, plus bidirectional RS‑232 and IR signals up to 230 feet (70 meters) over a shielded CATx cable.
The DTP T HD2 4K 230 provides automatic input cable equalization up to 100 feet (30 meters) at 1920x1200 with 8‑bit color on Extron HDMI Pro Series cables. Input cable equalization restores and reshapes incoming HDMI signals, reducing the need for additional signal conditioning equipment by compensating for weak source signals or signal loss from a long input cable.
The DTP T HD2 4K 230 can be integrated with an Extron DTP CrossPoint® Presentation Matrix Switcher, or other DTP‑enabled products to support sources at remote locations. The transmitter is housed in a 1" (2.5 cm) high, quarter rack width metal enclosure. The low profile design of the DTP T HD2 4K 230 allows for discreet placement in lecterns and beneath tables.
Extron recommends Extron-certified XTP DTP 24 shielded twisted pair cable, shielded RJ‑45 plugs, jacks, and couplers engineered for optimum signal transmission with Extron DTP Series products. The XTP DTP 24 cable is certified to 475 MHz and utilizes a SF/UTP design with four unshielded 24 AWG twisted pair conductors inside an overall braid and foil shield for superior performance and noise immunity.
